XSOF Inc. has acquired the assets and liabilities of R Specialty Optical Fibers LLC (RSOF) and Tratech Specialty Optical Fibers LLC (TSOF).
As a result, XSOF Inc. is consolidating operations into its Williamsburg, VA location, with the transition expected to be finalized by the end of 2024 or sooner.
All members of the LLCs have become stockholders in XSOF Inc. and remain in their roles, and all key staff have been retained.
The Williamsburg, VA operations of XSOF Inc. are housed in a new 8,000 SF facility located in an economic opportunity zone in York County, VA, with expansion options to significantly increase the footprint. The customized facility produces fiber optic assemblies targeted at the Laser, Spectroscopic, and Optical Metrology sectors, fabricating fiber optic devices for Medical, Defense, Material Processing, Sensing, Illumination, and Emerging Quantum applications.
The facility, which includes a Class 8 clean room, is also fabricating Hybrid Opto-Mechanical-Electronic assemblies and will continue to enhance that capability.
Other leading-edge products—such as Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) and Hollow Core Photonic Crystal Fiber (HCPCF) sealing, end capping, and specialty terminations and packaging, along with the HP-2.5 High-Power Laser line of products and terminations—will benefit from increased throughput and ISO standards at the consolidated location.
